Intestinal Barrier Repair in Giardiasis

چکیده
Abstract Giardiasis is a common diarrheal disease caused by the protozoan parasite Giardia duodenalis. Acute symptoms can include diarrhea, but infections are often sub-clinical. It transmitted via ingesting infectious cysts in contaminated food or water. In developing countries, giardiasis one of leading causes growth stunting children under two years old. Changes intestinal barrier integrity have been shown to contribute impaired nutrient absorption, thereby stunting. Although defects linked infection, there little understanding repair dynamics post-infection. Previous studies demonstrated that infection associated with dysbiosis humans and animals. Because Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) signaling has promote other systems, we exploring role AHR following infection. We quantified specific microbiome-derived ligands plasma infected C57BL/6 mice observed reduction indole-3-ethanol indole-3-pyruvic acid 21 days Since IL-22 also repair, transcripts RT-PCR found significantly increased levels mRNA mice. These data suggest reduce through altered production microbiome, counter this effect some situations. This study will give better insight into effective dietary interventions prevent children. متن کاملThe role of protein kinase C isoforms in modulating injury and repair of the intestinal barrier.
Gastrointestinal cells express a diverse group of protein kinase C (PKC) isoforms that play critical roles in a number of cell functions, including intracellular signaling and barrier integrity. PKC isoforms expressed by gastrointestinal epithelial cells consist of three major PKC subfamilies: conventional isoforms (alpha, beta1, beta2, and gamma), novel isoforms (delta, epsilon, theta, eta, an...
