چکیده
We present a cognitive semiotic case study of the narrative potential statue Den lille Havfrue (‘the little mermaid’) by Edvard Eriksen in Copenhagen. On basis theoretical analysis and survey which 20 European 19 Chinese participants replied to questions concerning this we argue that it, similar statues, may be considered as products intersemiotic translation, but only if dispense with any requirements “equivalence” between source target, since statues are necessarily semiotically highly reduced. While narratives constitute cases primary narrativity, narrations providing audiences stories, partake secondary where prior story is needed for understood narration. In our study, was reflected correlations reported knowledge (and possibly even non-narrative) interpretations Havfrue. Finally, relate discussion present-day cultural political “settings”, many including Havfrue, have become part global anti-racism narrative.
