چکیده

SUMMARY The Main Köpetdag Fault (MKDF) is a predominantly right-lateral strike-slip fault that dissects the northern edge of mountains Turkmenistan and Iran. represents northernmost expression deformation from Arabia-Eurasia collision to east Caspian Sea, plays an important role facilitating motion South Basin (SCB). Despite kinematic significance MKDF, previous geodetic measurements slip-rate across have been highly variable, with recent geological supporting evidence for rapid fault. To resolve this ambiguity, we derive Sentinel-1 InSAR time-series in both ascending descending LOS (line-of-sight) measure interseismic MKDF. This implements processing strategy correction performance analysis tropospheric models GACOS (Generic Atmospheric Correction Online Service), which suggests 25–40 per cent under-estimation amplitude path delay region. Modelling rate fault-parallel MKDF combining constrains 9 ±2 mm/yr motion, along shallow locking depth ≈6 km. resolves delays greater than 1 geometries north aligned mapped frontal thrust scarps as uplift these thrusts estimates 4 shortening system. implies convergence measured GNSS within East Lowlands partitioned Revising Iran-Eurasia-SCB velocity triangle conjugate Shahroud zones representative SCB, moving at 10 direction 330○ ± 10○ relative Eurasia.

High-resolution interseismic velocity data along the San Andreas Fault from GPS and InSAR

[1] We compared four interseismic velocity models of the San Andreas Fault based on GPS observations. The standard deviations of the predicted secular velocity from the four models are larger north of the San Francisco Bay area, near the creeping segment in Central California, and along the San Jacinto Fault and the East California Shear Zone in Southern California. A coherence spectrum analysi...

Interseismic Deformation of the Altyn Tagh Fault Determined by Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) Measurements

The Altyn Tagh Fault (ATF) is one of the major left-lateral strike-slip faults in the northeastern area of the Tibetan Plateau. In this study, the interseismic deformation across the ATF at 85 ̋E was measured using 216 interferograms from 33 ENVISAT advanced synthetic aperture radar images on a descending track acquired from 2003 to 2010, and 66 interferograms from 15 advanced synthetic aperture...

Interseismic deformation and creep along the central section of the North Anatolian Fault (Turkey): InSAR observations and implications for rateandstate friction properties

[1] We present high-resolution measurements of interseismic deformation along the central section of the North Anatolian Fault (NAF) in Turkey using interferometric synthetic aperture radar data from the Advanced Land Observing Satellite and Envisat missions. We generated maps of satellite line-of-sight velocity using five ascending Advanced Land Observing Satellite tracks and one descending En...

Multiscale InSAR Time Series (MInTS) analysis of surface deformation

[1] We present a new approach to extracting spatially and temporally continuous ground deformation fields from interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) data. We focus on unwrapped interferograms from a single viewing geometry, estimating ground deformation along the line-of-sight. Our approach is based on a wavelet decomposition in space and a general parametrization in time. We refer t...
