Interpretation Bias Featured In Military Personnel With High Trait Anxiety Measured By A Novel Paradigm

Background: Anxiety has become one of the most common psychological problems affecting combat effectiveness soldiers. As generation, maintenance, and recurrence anxiety have an important interaction with interpretation bias, yet none proof was for existence bias in military personnel. Methods: 112 officers soldiers were recruited. Based on scores Trait-anxiety Inventory, participants divided into high trait group low group. Picture Sentence Association Paradigm comprised military-simulated ambiguous scenarios emotional facial expressions used to test differences between two groups. Results: Military personnel showed by endorsing more negative valence reject positive valence. Especially a self-related scenario, remarkable. Conclusion: This study revealed existed using new paradigm highlighted need further researches improve measurement bias. Moreover, picture sentence association could provide plausible methods cognitive modification decrease soldiers’ anxiety.
