Interpersonal Ties and Health Care: Examining the Social Networks of Filipino Migrant Domestic Workers in Hong Kong

This paper explores the relationship between social networks of Filipino migrant domestic workers (FMDWs) in Hong Kong and accessibility health resources, especially for women. study primarily draws evidence from ethnographic interviews with 20 FMDWs Kong. Likewise, this analysis also relied on field notes participant observations during formal meetings informal activities. reveals that strategically use their strong weak ties managing risks accessing resources well-being by deciding among network who what to share regarding concerns. They conscientiously negotiate rights opportunities employers, can provide access institutional resources. Finally, participate conversations discourses health-related policies home host countries network.
