Interest of SPECT/CT in Detection of Sentinel Lymph Node in Breast Cancer

چکیده
Aim: Assess the role of hybrid modality SPECT/CT versus planar scintigraphy in sentinel lymph node (SLN) identification patients with breast cancer. Methods: Planar and were performed 23 women cancer (mean age 59.5 years range 25 - 82 years) invasive (T0, T1 T2), without clinical evidence axillary metastases (N0) no remote (M0), radiocolloid was injected four subareolar sites. images separately interpreted. Results: SLNs detected on lymphoscintigraphy all (100%), taking into consideration both techniques (planar SPECT-CT images). identified 45 women, a mean 1.95 per patient, whereas 56 SPECT/CT, increasing this to 2.43 patient. Drainage internal mammary nodes seen 4 (17.39%). However, two foci uptake image as hot SLN (8.69%); while they have been found false positive non-nodal site SPECT/CT. Conclusion: is more focused than detection It detects some not visible images, excludes exactly locates non-axillary SLNs.

Sentinel lymph node in cervical cancer
Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer among women. Effective screening programs can help cancer detection in early phases and reduce death. Metastasis to lymph nodes is one of the most prognostic factors in patients who underwent surgery. Also, a positive result from pathology report alert oncologist as a cause of death. Sentinel lymph node biopsy has been widely ...
متن کاملthe accuracy of sentinel lymph node biopsy compared with axillary lymph node dissection in breast cancer
background : sentinel lymph node biopsy is used as an accurate staging procedure to detect early breast cancer. several studies have documented that sentinel lymph node biopsy can accurately determine the status of axillary nodes. sentinel node biopsy offers the advantage of accurately staging the axilla and eliminating the need for a full axillary dissection for patients who have a negative se...

INTRODUCTION Breast cancer accouns for 22.9% of all cancers in women and 13.7% of cancer deaths. Positive axillary lymphnodes (ALN) predict the development of distant metastases. The status of the sentinel lymphnode (SLN) is crutial for the treatment selection. AIM To determine the benefits of SLN detection in patients with breast cancer. MATERIAL AND METHODOLOGY 38 female patients (pts), a...

Dr. Cody presents a very thorough review of the use of sentinel lymphadenectomy in breast cancer. The article raises key issues related to a procedure that is becoming more widespread and may indeed replace axillary dissection for the staging of breast cancer. The sentinel node concept is based on the assumption that if a tumor spreads through the lymphatics, the lymph node that first drains th...
