An m×(n+1) multiplicity matrix is a M=(μi,j) with rows enumerated by i∈{1,2,…,m} and columns j∈{0,1,…,n} whose coordinates are nonnegative integers satisfying the following two properties: (1) If μi,j≥1, then j≤n−1 μi,j+1=μi,j−1, (2) colsumj(M)=∑i=1mμi,j≤n−j for all j. A commuting family of symmetric matrices are called the block Jacobi matrices, if they are block tridiagonal. They are related to multivariate orthogonal polynomials. ‎Let $p(z)=z^s h(z)$ where $h(z)$ is a polynomial‎ ‎of degree at most $n-s$ having all its zeros in $|z|geq k$ or in $|z|leq k$‎. ‎In this paper we obtain some new results about the dependence of $|p(Rz)|$ on $|p(rz)| $ for $r^2leq rRleq k^2$‎, ‎$k^2 leq rRleq R^2$ and for $Rleq r leq k$‎. ‎Our results refine and generalize certain well-known polynomial inequalities‎.
