چکیده

The age of Anthropocene makes it imperative that we find ways to tackle pollution and stay within planetary boundaries limits, one these is nutrients availability. From a point view, the release new reactive nitrogen should be 25% current level, equal yearly about 35 million tons. Instead discharging N- P-rich wastewater into coastal inland waters, use same microalgae growth for useful purposes in microalgaebased treatment, since cultivation algae requires addition nutrients; mainly nitrogen, phosphorus potassium. In turn, cost reduction removal phase treatment stages, water reclamation reuse maintenance ecological balance aquatic terrestrial ecosystems. Therefore, this work deals with eutrophication issue naturebased solution aims investigate ability green remove from hypereutrophic try producing biogas reduce consumption fossil fuels greenhouse gas emissions.

Algal treatment of a mixture of urban wastewater and Vinasse using Spirulina platensis microalgae

Background and Objective: Algal wastewater treatment is a new and economic technology to remove and recycle nutrients from wastewater. In order to investigate the effect of vinasse on microalgae growth and also the effect of its growth on nitrogen and phosphate removal in a mixture of urban wastewater and vinasse, the growth of Spirulina platensis was studied. Materials and Methods: Growth abi...

Capability of microalgae-based wastewater treatment systems to remove emerging organic contaminants: a pilot-scale study.

The effect of hydraulic retention time (HRT) and seasonality on the removal efficiency of 26 organic microcontaminants from urban wastewater was studied in two pilot high-rate algal ponds (HRAPs). The targeted compounds included pharmaceuticals and personal care products, fire retardants, surfactants, anticorrosive agents, pesticides and plasticizers, among others. The pilot plant, which was fe...
