Integrating the green economy, circular economy and bioeconomy in a strategic sustainability framework

The green economy, circular economy and bioeconomy are popular narratives in macro-level sustainability discussions policy, scientific research business. These three offer different recipes to address economic, social ecological goals, thus promoting pathways for transformations. We employ the well-known Framework Strategic Sustainable Development (The Natural Step Framework) comparatively identify relative integrated contribution of global net sustainability. conclude that none narratives, individually, a comprehensive ‘package’ solutions. However, when considered jointly as collaborative they point towards society based on renewable/reproductive biodiversity-based/benign processes, delivering material immaterial benefits fulfil economic requirements all people now future. While complementary understanding provides important guidelines transformations post-Covid-19, there is need more holistic, systems-wide integrative work potentially competing or supplementary narratives. This type clarification synthesis relevant wide range scholars professionals, since conceptual informs practical implementation through strategies, actions monitoring tools, public private decision-making. • Green, evaluated strong framework.
