Integrating e-Learning in Open and Distance Learning: The Case of Botswana Open University

The Botswana College of Distance and Open Learning (BOCODOL), presently University (BOU), was founded to provide nation-wide learning opportunities for out-of-school young adults using the (ODL) mode. BOU used a number strategies enable it deliver on its mandate; one such strategy being implementation e-Learning, following contemporary delivery trends internationally within ODL field. This paper reports findings study that sought investigate extent which organisational efforts (means) were able produce results (ends) associated societal impact in e-Learning at BOCODOL. diffusion an innovation theoretical framework Organisational Elements Model (OEM) conceptual underpin study. Qualitative data collection methods inquiry (ethnography, document analysis written interviews) used. After providing relevant literature review, firstly landscape, as well nature inputs processes serving means BOU.
