Intake, Nutrient Digestibility, and Growth Performance of Balinese Bulls Fattening on Various Types of Forages in Traditional Farm

This study aimed to evaluate the performance of Balinese bulls fattened by various forages on traditional farms. The was experimental research using Clitoria ternatea, Zea mays fresh straw, Pennisetum purpuphoides, purpureum, Sesbania grandiflora, Centrosema pubescens, Leucaena leucocephala, and natural grass fatten livestock which were arranged for farmers' habits in fattening. Variables measured included feed consumption digestibility growth performance, including daily body weight gain (PBBH), conversion efficiency, cost per gain. collected data then analysed descriptive analysis procedures. results showed that fattening with forage resulted dry matter (DM) (kg/head/day) reaching 7.079, while crude protein (CP) organic (OM) intake respectively 1.053 6.440 (kg/head/day). coefficient 56.68%, 69.86%, 68.83%. ADG obtained 0.321 kg/head/day; meanwhile, efficiency 23.664 kg.DM/kg.ADG 4.619%; (IDR/kg.ADG) reached 10,813.85. To sum up, use types farms indicates DM, OM, CP are relatively high, but it provides low mean ADG, conversion, not optimal.
