چکیده
Abstract Ultra‐high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) are a group of advanced ceramic materials that possess excellent high capabilities, which make them especially suitable for extreme environment engineering applications. As an effective assembling method, joining is frequently required fabricating sophisticated structures such applications due to the excessive challenges and costs in producing near‐net shapes. Here, we introduce promising new technique effectively join UHTCs called Instantaneous Nanowelding , uses direct electric current assisted rapid Joule heating instantaneously bond hafnium diboride (HfB 2 ) zirconium (ZrB 1 s down atomic scale. The aim of this investigation was to determine the influence of simulated ageing on the tetragonal-to-monoclinic phase transformation and on the flexural strength of a 3Y-TZP ceramic, compared to alumina toughened zirconia (ATZ) and ceria-stabilized zirconia (12Ce-TZP). Standardized disc specimens of each material were hydrothermally aged in steam at 134°C and 3bar for 0, 16, 32, 64 or 128h. Th...

with the perovskite structure and with the trivalent cation (M) substitution at the B-site to introduce oxygen vacancies. The high affinity for hydrogen ions (H) is advantageous for protonic transport, but it increases the reactivity toward water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2), which can lead to premature membrane failure. In addition, there are considerable technological challenges related to ...
متن کاملA Novel Polymer - Derived - nanoCeramic for Ultrahigh Temperature MEMS Micro
Polymer–derived ceramics (PDCs) constituted from silicon, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen embody not only remarkable resistance to creep, thermal shock and oxidation at very high temperatures, but also functional properties such as semiconductivity which extends up to 1350C. In this report we describe the extraordinary sensitivity of the electrical resistance of the PDCs to hydrogen, at temperature...
