چکیده
Abstract Simultaneous OH-PLIF and Mie scatter imaging were used to investigate turbulent premixed flame edge detection under a range of turbulence characteristics on stabilised piloted Bunsen burner. A 527 nm wavelength laser beam is generate scattering sheet at 500 Hz, 283 created using 355 pump an optical parametric oscillator induce florescence from OH radicals 5 Hz. phase-locking technique applied synchronize lock the two systems. The number density method has been detect edges in images, three algorithms images as reference. comparison methods different parameter setting made by metrics location difference, surface curvature edges. processed data show that once well-tuned window size determined applying method, averaged spatial differences between are order or smaller than laminar thickness, demonstrating these conditions, high frequency measurements can be well define resolution. positive result confirms double-frame allows measurement conditional velocity distributions properties simultaneously solely scattering, provided particle suitably designed around 16 px $$^2$$ 2 per particle. Infrared radiation from a Bunsen flame.
Many observers have studied th e infrared emi sion of a Bunsen flame [11. 2 The strongest band ocem s at about 4.4 Il and is produced by carbon dioxid e. Other bands have been found a t 0.95, 1.45, 2.0, and 2.8 Il , and are a ttributed to carbon dioxide and water vapor. Very little radiation has been observed in the region beyond 7 Il . In the visible and ultraviolet regions of the spectrum, co...
متن کاملInvestigation of Bunsen flame dynamics by the method of characteristics
Understanding the dynamics and the stabilisation of flames is important for practical applications and for theoretical research. Here, to investigate the time-evolution of a Bunsen flame in a Poiseuille flow, we extend a G-equation-based kinematic model by accounting for flame stabilisation. The nonlinear G-equation is solved analytically using the methods of characteristics. The solution is th...
متن کاملInvestigation of Air Turbulence Intensity Effect on the Flame Structure in Different Flame Holder Geometry
In this paper, the effect of air turbulence intensity on the flame structure in various radii and lengths of a flame holder numerically studied. Finite volume method is used to solve the governing equations. The obtained numerical results using realizable k-ε and β-PDF models show a good agreement with the experimental data. The results show that flame holder with greater lengths yield shorter ...
متن کاملFlame Front Matching and Tracking in PLIF Images Using Geodesic Paths and Level Sets
This paper treats the problem of tracking contours of flames captured by PLIF imaging using geodesic paths and level sets. Successive images of the combustion process captured in controlled experiments are smoothed by non-linear diffusion filtering then active contour models are used to obtain the curves that most accurately describe the flame boundary. These curves are matched using the concep...
