Inspection of Intraocular Lens With Dual-Side View Optical Coherence Tomography

Intraocular lens (IOL) is widely used for cataract treatment. Its optical properties are crucial to obtain a good treatment efficacy and thus need be evaluated controlled. In this study, we propose novel method based on coherence tomography (OCT) noncontact accurate in vitro measurement of thickness, refractive index dioptric power IOL implants. The OCT setup specially designed create two sampling optics, called dual-side view (DSV-OCT), which allows imaging from the opposite sides simultaneously in single volume scanning. This can produce three-dimensional surface contour without suffering image distortions due refraction curved surface. Then, thickness curvature easily computed contours. addition, DSV-OCT able measure index. Three IOLs with different powers (5D, 20D 28D) were chosen evaluate method. results show that capable provide comprehensive evaluation aspects power, hence potentially as quality assurance tool by manufacturers.
