چکیده

Changing climatic conditions across Australia’s viticulture regions is placing increasing pressure on resources such as water and energy for irrigation. Therefore, there a pressing need to identify superior drought tolerant grapevine clones by exploring the extensive genetic diversity of early European in old vineyards. Previously, field trial, we identified drought-tolerant (DT) dry-farmed Cabernet Sauvignon that had higher intrinsic use efficiency (WUEi) under prolonged soil moisture deficiency compared drought-sensitive (DS) clones. To investigate whether field-grown have been primed confer phenotypes their subsequent vegetative progenies, evaluated responses DT DS progenies two sequential events glasshouse alongside commercial The clonal exhibited improved gas exchange, photosynthetic performance WUEi recurrent relative progenies. Concentration natural priming agent, γ-amino butyric acid (GABA), was significantly other drought. Although displayed similar acclimation responses, underlying hydraulic, stomatal regulatory mechanisms were quite distinct. Our study provides fundamental insights into potential intergenerational grapevine.

Biological activities of Vitis vinifera L. leaves

The fractions of different polarity, namely chloroform, ethylacetate, n-butanol, and remaining water fractions, were fractionated from an aqueous extract of V. vinifera leaves. The antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antioxidant activities, and total phenolic content of these fractions were investigated. The chloroform fraction showed a promising effect against Herpes simplex virus type-1 (HS...

Phenology, Canopy Aging and Seasonal Carbon Balance as Related to Delayed Winter Pruning of Vitis vinifera L. cv. Sangiovese Grapevines

Manipulating or shifting annual grapevine growing cycle to offset limitations imposed by global warming is a must today, and delayed winter pruning is a tool to achieve it. However, no information is available about its physiological background, especially in relation to modifications in canopy phenology, demography and seasonal carbon budget. Mechanistic hypothesis underlying this work was tha...

Effect of Drought Stress on Some Physiological Traits in Three Varieties of Grapes (Vitis vinifera L.)

Drought stress is one of the most important limiting factors for cultivation and production of grapes in the world and Iran. To study the effect of drought stress on some physiological traits of three cultivars, i.e. ‘Fakhri’, ‘Molaei’ and ‘Ghalati’, a factorial experiment in completely randomized design with three soil water potential treatments. i.e. -0.2 (control), -0.7 and -1.2 MPa was impl...

RESPONSE OF ANTIOXIDANT SYSTEMS TO SHORT - TERM NaCl STRESS IN GRAPEVINE ROOTSTOCK - 1616 C AND VITIS VINIFERA L

The present study examined free-radical scavenging enzyme activity and the levels of lipid peroxide, ascorbic acid, nitric oxide and glutathione in 1616C rootstock and the Razaki cultivar of Vitis vinifera L. under treatment with different concentrations of salt. At day 7, in leaves of both 1616C rootstock and cv. Razaki treated with 12 mM NaCl there were significant increases in glutathione pe...

Bioarchaeological Insights into the Process of Domestication of Grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) during Roman Times in Southern France

Grapevine (Vitis vinifera), one of the most important fruit species in the Classical Mediterranean world, is thought to have been domesticated first in South-Western Asia, during the Neolithic. However, the domestication process remains largely unknown. Crucial unanswered questions concern the duration of the process (rapid or slow?) and the related geographical area (single or multiple-origins...
