Insight into the molecular pathogenesis of odontogenic tumours
نویسندگان
چکیده
Odontogenic tumors, derived from epithelial, ectomesenchymal, and/or mesenchymal elements of the tooth-forming apparatus, constitute a heterogeneous group lesions, including hamartomas, benign and malignant neoplasms with metastatic capabilities. This review provides comprehensive overview molecular events in pathogenesis odontogenic tumors. The reasonable better understanding components may prompt new ideas for their detection administrating prognosis

A Molecular Insight into the Role of Inflammation in the Behavior and Pathogenesis of Odontogenic Cysts
BACKGROUND Although, odontogenickeratocyst (OKC) and dentigerous cyst (DC) are considered asdevelopmental cysts inflammation has been seen in its connective tissue wall. Inflammation is seen to alter the epithelial lining of both OKC and DC butwhether it plays in altering the behavior of these cysts is not fully understood. AIM The present study is conducted with the help of molecular marker ...
متن کاملCerebral malaria: insight into pathogenesis, complications and molecular biomarkers
Cerebral malaria is a medical emergency. All patients with Plasmodium falciparum malaria with neurologic manifestations of any degree should be urgently treated as cases of cerebral malaria. Pathogenesis of cerebral malaria is due to damaged vascular endothelium by parasite sequestration, inflammatory cytokine production and vascular leakage, which result in brain hypoxia, as indicated by incre...
متن کاملInsight into the Pathogenesis of Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the United States and Europe, caused by a tick-borne spirochete, Borrelia burgdorferi. Life cycle alternation between arthropod and mammals enhanced B. burgdorferi to adapt to two diverse niches. Although B. burgdorferi infection in these reservoir hosts appears asymptomatic, infection in human can typically cause inflammation in the skin,...
متن کاملInsight into the Pathogenesis of Follicular Lymphoma
Follicular lymphoma (FL) is the second most common non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). FL is clinically designated as an indolent with a long median survival of 8-10 years. However, the clinical and biological behavior of FL shows considerable variability, with some patients showing aggressive disease progression and very short survival. A hallmark of FL is the Bcl-2 translocation t(14;18), This transl...
متن کاملHuman Studies Provide Insight into the Pathogenesis
Sir—In their article about Cryptosporidium species, Leav et al. [1] provide a nice summary of data on the molecular biology of these parasites and findings from animal studies. However, there are also recent human studies on the pathogenesis, immunology, and treatment of infection with this organism that were not discussed in the article. For example, the section on pathogenesis states that the...
