Initial curing characteristics of composite cements under ceramic restorations

چکیده

Purpose: To assess the degree of conversion (DC) dual-curing composite cements when cured through ceramic-veneered zirconia disks. Methods: Portions mixed cement, either G-CEM LinkForce (GC), Panavia V5 (Kuraray Noritake) or ResiCEM (Shofu), were placed on ATR crystal a Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscope (FTIR; iS50, Thermo Scientific) and squeezed to 100-µm film thickness using microscopy cover glass. DC (%) applied in self-curing mode was measured dark at 37°C. Following mode, light-cured directly (positive control) disk (0.5-mm thick with 1.0-mm veneering ceramic) for 40 sec two light-curing units (G-Light Prima 2, GC; PenCure, Morita). Per experimental group, 5 tests conducted measure self-cure dual-cure (n=5). FTIR spectra cement films acquired determine every min up 30 min. statistically compared two-way repeated-measures ANOVA (?=0.05). Results:For all investigated, resulted significantly lower 10, 20 than mode. When disk, dropped ResiCem while not (GC). Conclusions: Self-curing slows down polymerization but does reach highest (light-cured) DC. Ceramic-veneered zirconia-based restorations may affect some cements.

Temperature Rise during Resin Composite Polymerization under Different Ceramic Restorations

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to measure temperature increase induced by various light polymerizing units during resin composite polymerization beneath one of three types of ceramic restorations. METHODS The resin composite (Variolink II) was polymerized between one of three different ceramic specimens (zirconium oxide, lithium disilicate, feldspathic) (diameter 5 mm, height 2 mm) ...

Effect of Three Light Curing Protocols and Load Cycling on Microleakage of Class V Composite Restorations

Objective: Different methods have been suggested to overcome the polymerization shrinkage of composite restorations. Changing the light curing protocol to improve polymerization by using new light curing units is among these methods. The new devices are more efficient, portable and durable and produce less heat. This study aimed to assess the marginal microleakage of class V composite restora...
