چکیده

The target pyrrolyl-thiazoldin-4-one inhibitor (PEHT) was synthesized by the cyclization of 2-acetylpyrrole thiosemicarbazone with ethyl bromoacetate, and its chemical structure determined different spectroscopic techniques, such as FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR. PEHT performance, a mild steel (MS) corrosion inhibitor, in an acidic solution evaluated mass loss (ML), potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. concentration effect, studied loss, reached maximum protection efficiency at 8 × 10–4 M, 92.6% 303 K. adsorbed on MS surface chemically followed Langmuir isotherm, ?G°ads = ?37.30 kJ mol?1 K, forming protective film deduced from EIS data. PDP measurements revealed that acted mixed-type inhibitor. Further, morphology UV/Vis, SEM AFM which designated supported formation layer surface. Finally, DFT quantum calculations medium were carried out to investigate active sites for binding metal

Electrochemical and Theoretical Studies of Adsorption of 1-H-benzotriazole at Stainless Steel in Hydrochloric acid Solution Interface as Corrosion Inhibitors

The influence of the concentration of1-H-benzoteriazolon the corrosion of 316 stainless steel (SS) in chloride acid 1M solutions was studied. The potentiodynamics polarization and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) have been used. The inhibition efficiency increased with an increase in the concentration of1-H-benzoteriazol.The adsorption of1-H-benzoteriazol onto the SS surface occurs accord...

Experimental and Theoretical Studies of Hydroxyethyl Cellulose as Inhibitor for Acid Corrosion Inhibition of Mild Steel and Aluminium

Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) was studied as corrosion inhibitor for mild steel and aluminium in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution using weight loss and electrochemical techniques. The results revealed that HEC inhibited corrosion of mild steel and aluminium in sulphuric acid environment. Inhibition efficiency was found to depend on concentration of the inhibitor. Impedance results revealed that HEC was adso...

Experimental and theoretical studies of Schiff bases as corrosion inhibitors

BACKGROUND Relatively inexpensive, stable Schiff bases, namely 3-((4-hydroxybenzylidene)amino)-2-methylquinazolin-4(3H)-one (BZ3) and 3-((4-(dimethylamino)benzylidene)amino)-2-methylquinazolin-4(3H)-one (BZ4), were employed as highly efficient inhibitors of mild steel corrosion by corrosive acid. FINDINGS The inhibition efficiencies were estimated based on weight loss method. Moreover, scanni...
