Propagators of 2d Landau-gauge Yang-Mills theory
In two-dimensional Yang-Mills theory many quantities can be determined exactly. In particular, no propagating modes exist, and thus the theory is perfectly confining. It is also related to topological field theories [1]. In Landau gauge, this is manifest already in perturbation theory, where one has an explicit version of Kugo-Ojima confinement by the quartet mechanism [2]. On the other hand, t...
متن کاملInfrared exponents of Yang-Mills theory
In this talk I summarise recent results on the infrared exponents of SU(Nc)-Yang-Mills theory. I discuss a self-consistent power law solution for the Dyson-Schwinger equations for general 1PI-Greens functions in the infrared. The corresponding running coupling has a fixed point at zero momentum, which turns out to be universal and gauge invariant within a class of transverse gauges. When calcul...
متن کاملPropagators in Yang-Mills theory for different gauges
Green’s functions are gauge-dependent quantities. Thus, the manifestation of confinement in these correlation functions also depends on the gauge. Here we use lattice gauge theory to study the gluon and the ghost propagators in a gauge (the so-called λ -gauge) interpolating between the Landau and the Coulomb gauge. Results are compared to the usual minimal Landau gauge.
متن کاملInfrared analysis of propagators and vertices of Yang–Mills theory in Landau and Coulomb gauge
Abstract The infrared behaviour of gluon and ghost propagators, ghost-gluon vertex and three-gluon vertex is investigated for both the covariant Landau and the non-covariant Coulomb gauge. Assuming infrared ghost dominance, we find a unique infrared exponent in the d = 4 Landau gauge, while in the d = 3 + 1 Coulomb gauge we find two different infrared exponents. We also show that a finite dress...
متن کاملInfrared and ultraviolet asymptotic solutions to gluon and ghost propagators in Yang-Mills theory
We examine the possibility that there may exist a logarithmic correction to the infrared asymptotic solution with power behavior which has recently been found for the gluon and Faddeev-Popov ghost propagators in the Landau gauge. We propose a new Ansatz to find a pair of solutions for the gluon and ghost form factors by solving the coupled Schwinger-Dyson equation under a simple truncation. Thi...
