چکیده
A case crossover study with the New York State Department of Health from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2014, a validation sample International Classification Diseases, ninth revision, codes for cervical artery dissection drawn 599 patients aged 18 45 years confirmed strokes at Columbia University Medical Center 2008 March 15, 2015. Of 3610 nontraumatic (mean age, 52 years), 265 (7%) had one or more influenza-like illnesses during their periods. In adjusted models, were likely have illness within 30, and 90 days before compared same interval 1 2 dissection. Influenza-like might increase risk 15 possibly ≤3 months.

Cervical artery dissection is associated with widened aortic root diameter.
OBJECTIVE Dissection of the internal carotid and vertebral arteries is a well recognized cause of stroke, especially in the middle-aged. The exact etiology of this condition is controversial. According to one theory there is an underlying vasculopathy originating from disturbed development of the neural crest. The neural crest gives rise to several tissues, including the tunica media of large c...
متن کاملCervical Artery Dissection: Emerging Risk Factors
Cervical artery dissection (CAD) represents an increasingly recognized cause of stroke and the most common cause of ischemic stroke in young adults. Many factors have been identified in association with CAD such as primary disease of arterial wall (fibrodysplasia) and other non-specific diseases related to CAD like Ehlers Danlos-syndrome IV, Marfan's syndrome, vessel tortuosity. Moreover, an un...
متن کاملIs Induction of Anomalies in Lymphocytes of the Residents of High Background Radiation Areas Associated with Increased Cancer Risk?
Man has been exposed to different levels of natural background radiation since the creation of human life. There are inhabited areas around the world with extraordinary levels of natural background radiation. The level of natural radiation in these areas is up to two orders of magnitude higher than other places. Areas such as Yangjiang, China; Guarapari, Brazil; and Kerala, India are among the ...
متن کاملVascular Tortuosity May Be Associated With Cervical Artery Dissection.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Dissection is an increasingly recognized cause of ischemic stroke, which occurs spontaneously or after trauma, in relatively young patients. We hypothesized that there might be a predisposing factor weakening the vascular wall and that arterial tortuosity might be higher in patients with dissection. METHODS We consecutively enrolled cervical artery dissection (CerAD) pa...
متن کاملAneurysmal forms of cervical artery dissection : associated factors and outcome.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The natural history of aneurysmal forms of cervical artery dissection (CAD) is ill defined. The aims of this study were to assess (1) clinical and anatomic outcome of aneurysmal forms of extracranial internal carotid artery (ICA) and vertebral artery (VA) dissections and (2) factors associated with aneurysmal forms of CAD. METHODS Seventy-one consecutive patients with C...
