"Influence of Solar Activity and Geomagnetism on Moth Species Collected by Pheromone Traps in North Carolina"
نویسندگان
چکیده
The relationship between the activity of moths, as indicated by pheromone traps, to solar and Earth magnetism was investigated in North Carolina, USA. Relationships were found but species differed their responses. These results are similar those light- trapping data on moth caddisfly Hungary Australia.

are pheromone traps applicable to forecast an insect pest phenology? a case study on codling moth
applying a precise forecasting method is necessary to achieve acceptable results in ipm programs. performances of the wing and delta pheromone traps for forecasting the codling moth phenology were compared with physiological time data based on degree-hours. six pheromone traps (three wing and three delta style) were applied for the monitoring of the codling moth population. traps were placed in...
متن کاملPerceptions Held by Community College Computer Instructors in North Carolina
Community college computer instructors provide a valuable service by preparing students for challenging careers. At the same time, they face many challenges to stay current in their field and to maintain industry certifications. Therefore, community college administrators need to determine what perceptions are held by computer instructors, address any negative perceptions, and determine if inst...
متن کاملAntennal resolution of pulsed pheromone plumes in three moth species.
Male antennae of Cadra cautella, Pectinophora gossypiella, and Spodoptera exigua were presented with 20-ms-duration pulses of their two-component pheromone at rates of 1 to 33 Hz. Fourier analyses of electroantennograms resolved the temporal structure of trains of pheromone filaments delivered at up to 33 Hz for C. cautella and S. exigua and 25 Hz for P. gossypiella. Pheromone components tested...
متن کاملcritical period effects in foreign language learning:the influence of maturational state on the acquisition of reading, writing, and grammar in english as a foreign language
since the 1960s the age effects on learning both first and second language have been explored by many linguists and applied linguists (e.g lennerberg, 1967; schachter, 1996; long, 1990) and the existence of critical period for language acquisition was found to be a common ground of all these studies. in spite of some common findings, some issues about the impacts of age on acquiring a second or...

Populations of the gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar (L.), are extensively monitored in the United States through the use of pheromone-baited traps. We report on use of automated pheromone-baited traps that use a recording sensor and data logger to record the unique date-time stamp of males as they enter the trap. We deployed a total of 352 automated traps under field conditions across several U.S. ...
