چکیده
This paper investigated the improvement of mechanical properties for one most used biomaterials, titanium-based alloy. To improve its properties, molybdenum was chosen to be added Ti and Ti-Zr alloys through a blending process. After homogenization (12, 15) Mo Mo-6 Zr, compaction pressure sintering temperature were varied create pellets. Characterization has been done using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Vickers’s hardness, Archimedes test ultrasonic method, 3-point bending test. Micrograph each pellet revealed influence content that plays prominent role in variation microstructure Ti-Mo Ti-Zr-Mo. The porosity density also influenced by changing ?-phase. EBSD analysis shows increase ?-phase with addition Zr. overall results indicated percentage greatly affects specimens.

Phase transition and ordering behavior of ternary Ti – Al – Mo alloys using in - situ neutron diffraction
Neutron diffraction has been used for in-situ investigations to elucidate the phase transformation behavior of two Mo-containing TiAl alloys with compositions of Ti-44Al3Mo and Ti-44Al-7Mo (in at.%). Five different phases are present in these alloys. These include three ordered phases at room temperature, namely a2, b0 and c and two disordered phases, a and b, which occur at higher temperatures...
متن کاملTRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF Ti-Si-Zr ALLOYS
Nowadays titanium alloys are extensively used for aerospace and biomedical applications. However, despite good mechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance they possess poor wear resistance and a tendency to galling and seizure. In this study the tribological properties of experimental Ti-Si-Zr based alloys were studied using a standard ball-on-disc wear testing system. The wear and...
متن کامل3(111) grain boundary of body-centered cubic Ti-Mo and Ti-V alloys: First-principles and model calculations
The energetics and atomic structures of 3[11̄0](111) grain boundary (GB) of body-centered cubic (bcc) Ti-Mo and Ti-V alloys are investigated using density-functional-theory calculations and virtual crystal approximation. The electron density in bcc structure and the atomic displacements and excess energy of the GB are correlated to bcc-ω phase stability. Model calculations based on pairwise inte...
متن کاملInfluence of boron vacancies on phase stability, bonding and structure of MB₂ (M = Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W) with AlB₂ type structure.
Transition metal diborides in hexagonal AlB2 type structure typically form stable MB2 phases for group IV elements (M = Ti, Zr, Hf). For group V (M = V, Nb, Ta) and group VI (M = Cr, Mo, W) the stability is reduced and an alternative hexagonal rhombohedral MB2 structure becomes more stable. In this work we investigate the effect of vacancies on the B-site in hexagonal MB2 and its influenc...
