Influence of Patching on the Shear Failure of Reinforced Concrete Beam without Stirrup

چکیده
Deteriorated concrete cover, e.g., spalling or delamination, especially when it occurs at the web of a reinforced (RC) beam within shear span, can reduce capacity beam. Patching this deteriorated area may be best option to recover affected. For purpose, unsaturated polyester resin mortar (UPR mortar) has been formulated. This research aims investigate efficacy UPR in limiting cracking and so restoring RC The investigation is carried out by an experimental numerical study. Two types beams with size 150 × 250 1000 mm were prepared. first type was assigned as normal other cut off non-stirrup which eventually patched mortar. reinforcement ratios for each beams. results show that effective hamper propagation diagonal cracks leading increase failure load 15–20% compared reference (normal) strength use consistently confirmed various ratios.
