چکیده

The study was planned to see the influence of different organic manures and inorganic fertilizers on growth, yield quality okra which comprised combination (FYM, neem cake, vermicompost) (viz., Nitrogen, Phosphorus Potassium). experiment laid out in RBD with 9 treatments 3 replications. Treatments involved were T0 – 100% RDF + 20 t/ha FYM, T1 10t vermicompost, T2 2t T3 –75% 25% T4 75% T5 50% T6 –50% T7 T8 +50% cake. results revealed that (100% through performed best term days germination (9.20 DAS), emergence (19.87 flowering (49.20 plant height (75.03 cm), first harvest (56 number fruits per (10), fruit length for marketability (10.71 average weight 10 capsule (109 g), (194.93 hectare (116.96 q/ha), total soluble solids (5.80° Brix), ascorbic acid (18.54 mg/100 colour (138.33) B:C ratio (2.81). Therefore, treatment is when compared all other treatments. As highest benefit cost ratio, net return gross observed i.e., (2.81), Rs. 226422 350880 states it economically profitable

Influence of Farmyard Manure and Weeding Regimes on Growth and Yield of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) in Zaria

Field experiments were conducted during the 2010 and 2011 cropping seasons to investigate the effect of farmyard manure and weeding regimes on the growth and yield of okra. The study was a factorial experiment laid out in split plot design, replicated three times. Farm yard manure was assigned as main plot treatments, while weeding regimes was assigned as sub plot treatments. Parameters measure...

Nitrogen application affects yield and postharvest quality of okra (Hibiscus esculentus L. cv. ‘Boyiatiou’)

In Greece and Turkey, okra (Hibiscus esculentus L.) is cultivated for small pods (≤4-5 cm), which are highly perishable after harvest. In this experiment, okra was cultivated at 4 levels of N (30, 150, 300 and 450 mg l-1) within the irrigation water. Pod yield was highest at 300 mg l-1 N. High N increased the nitrate content and decreased dry matter without affecting pod colour (P
