Influence of MOOC learners discussion forum social interactions on online reviews of MOOC

Abstract Although some studies have explored massive open online courses (MOOCs) discussion forums and MOOC reviews separately, of both aspects are insufficient. Based on the theory self-determination, this paper proposes research hypotheses that learning progress has a direct impact an indirect influence through social interactions in forums, as well. Coursera largest platform, is selected empirical object, data from learners who participated forum provided August 2016 to December 2019 obtained most popular course, “Machine Learning”. After processing, 4376 obtained. Then, according hypotheses, multi regression models constructed accordingly. The results show length review text affected by progress, number posts, follow, sentiment rating. This study highlights main factors affect reviews. As result, suggestions put forward for construction MOOC.
