Influence of mix ratio of potato peel and pig manure on reaction kinetics and methane recovery from anaerobic co-digestion

چکیده
The potential improvement in methane recovery and reaction kinetics from different mixes of potato peel (PP) pig manure (PM) a single stage anaerobic co-digestion/mono-digestion process was investigated laboratory study. highest yield 231 mL/g TCOD added observed the 50:50 mix manure. Compared to mono-digested substrates, co-digestion PP PM at 75:25, 50:50, 25:75 synergistically improved by 17%, 25%, 11%, respectively. co-digested also produced faster rate, with fastest production rate occurring mix. Thus, enhanced kinetics. Hence, rather than mono-digestion should be actively considered when carbon rich waste (such as peel) nutrient manure) are available within reasonable proximity.

this study investigated the effect of loading and temperature on anaerobic co-digestion of poultry manure with straw in mesophilic conditions. the study was made at lab-scale using 70l reactor with a hrt of 15 days. during the first phase, different loads of 1.0, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 kg vs/m3.d were studied in order to produce biogas. at load of 3.0 kg vs/ m3.d, vs removal and gas product...
متن کاملAnaerobic co-digestion of pig manure and algae: impact of intracellular algal products recovery on co-digestion performance.
This paper investigates anaerobic co-digestion of pig manure and algae (Scenedesmus sp.) with and without extraction of intracellular algal co-products, with views towards the development of a biorefinery concept for lipid, protein and/or biogas production. Protein and/or lipids were extracted from Scenedesmus sp. using free nitrous acid pre-treatments and solvent-based Soxhlet extraction, resp...
متن کاملAnaerobic Co-digestion of Dairy Manure with Potato Waste
In this study, anaerobic co-digestion of dairy manure (DM) and potato waste (PW) was evaluated to determine the best mixing ratio in terms of biogas and methane (CH4) productions. Batch lab-scale anaerobic co-digestion of DM with PW was conducted at two different temperature ranges [mesophilic (MT) (35-37 oC) and thermophilic (TT) (55-57 oC)]. The tests were conducted at five DM:PW mixing ratio...

Kinetic models which can express the behaviors of hydrolysis and biogas generation more precisely than the conventional models were developed. The developed models were evaluated based on the experimental data of six batch reactors.
