Influence of Maximal Strength on Bench Press and Trunk Rotation in Adapted Shot-put: A Pilot Investigation

چکیده

PURPOSE: Shot-put is a complex ballistic movement that involves segments’ translational and rotational motions. Its goal to release the shot at maximum forward velocity (strength) an angle of approximately 40º (rotation). Considering adapted shot-put, those two components could be more limited in action. Therefore, present study aimed examine correlations among one-repetition (1RM) test bench press (BP1RM) trunk rotation (TR1RM) throwing distance shotput body composition (Fat mass Fat-free [FFM]), shot-put (TD) 1RM results.METHODS: Eighteen non-professional athletes were evaluated, their anthropometric data obtained (bio-impedance measurements). Afterward, participants performed BP1RM TR1RM exercises. Finally, they similar conditions as official competitions, where three trials ASP performed, best these assessed.RESULTS: The results showed significant relationship between for both exercises (BP1RM (<i>p</i>=.040) (<i>p</i>=.002)) with amount FFM (<i>p</i>=.045). Concerning relationships, positive (<i>p</i>=.034) (<i>p</i>=.003)). Fat Mass demonstrated inverse correlation only (<i>p</i>=.035).CONCLUSIONS: suggest physical preparation, including exercises, are fundamental improving performance. This preliminary indicators which variables may influence might help coaches improve Nevertheless, should carefully considered since evaluated was very complex, especially when by unfamiliar them, because same analysis included sexes.

critical period effects in foreign language learning:the influence of maturational state on the acquisition of reading, writing, and grammar in english as a foreign language

since the 1960s the age effects on learning both first and second language have been explored by many linguists and applied linguists (e.g lennerberg, 1967; schachter, 1996; long, 1990) and the existence of critical period for language acquisition was found to be a common ground of all these studies. in spite of some common findings, some issues about the impacts of age on acquiring a second or...

The influence of isometric preload on power expressed during bench press in strength-trained men.

The purpose of this study was to compare the power expressed during the bench press exercise in resistance-trained men following different pre-activation conditions. Twenty-two trained men (age 24.1 ± 1.7 years, height 178.6 ± 6.1 cm, body mass 81.1 ± 10.6 kg) completed a maximal effort bench press (1-RM) test (100.0 kg ± 8.1 kg). In a subsequent assessment, each participant performed concentri...
