چکیده

Abstract Background The release of pollutant gases into the atmosphere as a result anthropogenic activities exert effect on biological systems at many levels. Combustion engines such those in vehicles and power generators pollute air with emissions from their exhausts. released which are oxides carbon, nitrogen; sulphur particulate matter have living things immediate environment. Up to 25% harvested fruits vegetables lost mainly due microbial before consumption. Disease development ripe tomato fruit (host) by two its fungal pathogens presence generator is presently being studied. Results Treatment produced variable effects depending fungus route infection. For Rhizopus stolonifer coated Fusarium oxysporum wound inoculated fruits, significant disease reduction was noticeable later days storage, specifically day 11. Fruits F . oxsporum spores without wounding however, rotted more gasoline treatment also noticeably period storage. Long exposures caused greater rot where reduced severe enhanced. infected were best preserved for 14 40 min exposure while 45 exposure. 40–50% both types Conversely, most aggravated about 50% unwounded fruits. Other increased rotting 5–35%. Conclusions results demonstrate that pollution fumes may under certain host–pathogen conditions be advantageous prolonging postharvest life tomatoes, other times could devastating when subsequently stored or marketed tropical ambient temperature. advantage, outweighs negative effects.

Influence of oxygen-enrichment air intake and bioethanol–gasoline blends on exhaust emissions and fuel consumption of gasoline engine

Among human activities, motor vehicles play the most important role in air pollution. Air pollution has negative impacts on people and on the environment. In this paper the effect of oxygen-enriched air (20.8%, 21.8%, 22.8%, 23.8% and 24.8%) and different bioethanol-gasoline blends (zero, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%) in different engine speeds (1000 rpm, 2000 rpm and 3000 rpm) on the amount o...

Impact of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in sugarcane productivity was assessed through a field experiment from plant and ratoon sugarcane in Tamil Nadu, India. Control, 12.5 and 18.75 kg ha-1 of AMF along with 75% and 100% of phosphorous application were triedas treatments. 18.75 kg ha-1 AMF applied plots showed significant difference in germination percentage, tiller number, internode...

Influence of Carbon Source on Cellulase Activity of White-rot and Brown-rot Fungi

Three white-rot fungi, Polyporus versicolor, Ganoderma applanatum, and Peniopbora “G,” produce an adaptive cellulase complex that can degrade both soluble cellulose (Cx) and microcrystalline cellulose (C1), a highly ordered form of cellulose. Production of Cx and C1 by the white-rot fungi was repressed by simple sugars. Cellualase preparations from three brown-rot fungi, Poria monticola, Lentin...
