Influence of flow field dynamics on soot evolution in an aero-engine model combustor

چکیده

Large-Eddy Simulation of a sooting aero-engine model combustor is analyzed by means proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) to investigate the influence flow field dynamics on soot evolution. Since classical POD fails extract low-frequency intermittent scalars such as volume fraction, recently-introduced multiresolution (MRPOD) deployed treat LES results instead. MRPOD essentially provides additional dynamic rankings energetic modes via bandpass filters constructed using wavelet packet transform (WPT). In investigated major identified in both velocity and scalar fields include precessing vortex core (PVC) at about 430 Hz (LFD) below 100 Hz. Low-frequency are present whole affect secondary air injection recirculation. While found PVC impact much smaller compared LFD impact.

Evolution of Compression Processes in Aero-Engine Thermal Cycles

In order to provide a basis for the establishment of an applicable strategy for the development of aero-engine thermal cycles, the evolution of compression processes in aero-engine thermal cycles is reviewed in this paper by analyzing the compression requirements for the injection or extraction of energy. It is therefore concluded that the injection of energy in the compression is required for ...

Numerical Investigation of Flow Field of D87 Dual Fuel Engine

A newly developed heavy duty diesel engine in dual fuel mode of operation has been studied in detail. The main fuel would be natural gas and diesel oil as pilot injection. The importance and effects of mixture preparation and formation through ports, valves and in cylinder flow field with different swirl ratio and tumble on diesel combustion phenomena is an accepted feature which has been studi...
