چکیده

The present study assesses the shear strength of Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) and Zantex to thermopolymerizable acrylic resin (TAR) with different surface treatments. To this end, 100 test specimens were produced divided into two groups: G1(PEEK + TAR) G2 (Zantex TAR). Each group was subdivided subgroups A, B, C, D E (n=10) according pre-treatment: A: TAR PEEK/Zantex without treatment (control); B: treated Palabond; C: blasted aluminum oxide (Al2O3) 125 µm; D: PEEK /Zantex Al2O3 µm E: prepared groove-shaped retentions. structures tested in a Universal testing machine EMIC DL2000. Two-way variance analysis showed significant difference between materials treatments (p < 0.001). Multiple comparisons done Tukey’s failure modes analyzed G test. Statistical that outperformed for most similar performance Al2O3. Within group, use grooves Palabond combined blasting best results; results obtained blasting. Regarding modes, only adhesive failures Zantex’s dependent on treatment. Therefore, method applied polymers studied here contribute material’s adhesion resin.

Effect of different surface pre-treatments and luting materials on shear bond strength to PEEK.

OBJECTIVES To assess the bonding potential of a universal composite resin cement and an adhesive/composite system to differently pre-treated PEEK surfaces. METHODS One hundred and fifty PEEK disks were embedded in epoxy resin, polished (P4000 grit) and treated as follows (n=30/group): (A) no treatment, (B) acid etching with sulfuric acid (98%) for 1 min, (C) sandblasting for 10s with 50 micro...

Mean strain effects on cyclic deformation and fatigue behavior of polyether ether ketone (PEEK)

The fatigue behavior of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) thermoplastic was investigated under uniaxial strain-controlled cyclic loading condition with various mean strains (Rε 1⁄4 0, 0.2, and 0.25). The mean stress responses of PEEK from all mean strain fatigue tests were found to be fully-relaxed. As a result, minimum mean strain effect on fatigue behavior of PEEK was observed. Fractography analy...

Local deformation behavior of surface porous polyether-ether-ketone.

Surface porous polyether-ether-ketone has the ability to maintain the tensile monotonic and cyclic strength necessary for many load bearing orthopedic applications while providing a surface that facilitates bone ingrowth; however, the relevant deformation behavior of the pore architecture in response to various loading conditions is not yet fully characterized or understood. The focus of this s...

Comparison of shear bond strength of orthodontics brackets on composite resin restorations with different surface treatments.

INTRODUCTION Orthodontic patients frequently present composite resin restorations, however there are few studies that evaluate the best way for orthodontic bonding in this situation. OBJECTIVE The objective of this work was to evaluate the bond strength of orthodontic brackets in resin restorations with surface treatment. METHODS Fifty one bovine lower incisors were randomly divided into th...
