Influence of chlorinated disinfection by-products on transmission of antibiotic resistance genes in biofilms and water of a simulated drinking water distribution system

چکیده
The spread of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) caused by biofilm growth in drinking water distribution systems (DWDSs) poses a serious threat to human health. influence disinfection by-products (DBPs) on the ARGs and mobile genetic elements (MGEs) different phases (biofilms water) DWDSs is unclear. In this study, characteristics microbial indices, trihalomethanes (THMs), haloacetic acids (HAAs), MGEs biofilms effluents simulated DWDS reactors were detected during 150 d operation. During mature periods 90 or 120 d, for both effluents, seven categories (except tetracycline) at their highest lowest relative abundance entire operation cycle, respectively. DBPs was phases. showed stronger relationship with compared MGEs. THMs HAAs had positive correlations various ARGs, which indicated that affected genes. biofilms, than ARGs. Thus, might be an important contributor enrichment water.

Drinking water disinfection by-product (DBP) occurrence research is important in supporting risk assessment and regulatory performance assessment. Recent DBP occurrence surveys have expanded their scope to include non-regulated priority DBPs as well as regulated DBPs. This study applies a Box-Cox transformed multivariate normal model and data augmentation methods for left-censored and missing o...

Exposure to disinfection by-products (DBPs) of drinking water is multiroute and occurs in households serviced by municipal water treatment facilities that disinfect the water as a necessary step to halt the spread of waterborne infectious diseases. Biomarkers of the two most abundant groups of DBPs of chlorination, exhaled breath levels of trihalomethanes (THMs) and urinary levels of two haloac...
متن کاملInfluence of the diversity of bacterial isolates from drinking water on resistance of biofilms to disinfection.
Single- and multispecies biofilms formed by six drinking water-isolated bacterial species were used to assess their susceptibilities to sodium hypochlorite (SHC). In general, multispecies biofilms were more resistant to inactivation and removal than single biofilms. Total biofilm inactivation was achieved only for Acinetobacter calcoaceticus single-species biofilms and for those multispecies bi...

since the 1960s the age effects on learning both first and second language have been explored by many linguists and applied linguists (e.g lennerberg, 1967; schachter, 1996; long, 1990) and the existence of critical period for language acquisition was found to be a common ground of all these studies. in spite of some common findings, some issues about the impacts of age on acquiring a second or...
