Influence and Effect of Pyrolysis with Additives in Tantalum Capacitors

In recent years, the demand for tantalum capacitors has been increasing due to miniaturization of electronic devices. Tantalum capacitors, which use rare metal as capacitor element, are used in devices such cell phones because they smaller and have a higher capacity than conventional capacitors. Japan, there reports that minerals containing elements being extracted from discarded electrical equipment produce medals 2020 Tokyo Olympics. many products discarded, these metals called urban mines. The contained accounts 40% total mass sintered material is expected be recycled products. However, covered with hard mold resin acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin, chemically physically stable. its nature, ABS difficult destroy not recycled. this study, hydrotalcite (HT) (Mg6Al2(OH)16CO3・MH2O) was extract by pyrolysis. HT added placed reactor subjected pyrolysis at 550℃ nitrogen determine if susceptible fracture. It presumed bromine gas generated trapped became residual carbon.
