چکیده
Abstract Background European canker, caused by Neonectria ditissima , is a disease of worldwide importance in apple production, yet knowledge about it limited, highly regional and sometimes contradictory. This an obstacle to successful management. Key aspects for Northern Europe are reviewed, based on research results from Germany Norway international literature data. Main topics Trunk cankers developing young trees within the first 1–3 seasons explanting can often be traced back latent infections initiated nurseries. The most important nursery infection lateral canker main trunk ‘knip’ trees, which standard tree type Europe. In strongly affected batches, up 25% have uprooted after growing season due such cankers. establishment maintenance healthy orchards requires clean material, especially case susceptible cultivars. Germany, commercial proceed through wounds fruit picking or leaf fall autumn, as shown appearance following spring high efficacy fungicide treatments at fall. Ascospores, commonly thought relevant long-distance spread infections, not released until end even wet autumn Germany. Therefore, their role remains unclear. Strong nitrogen-induced vegetative growth favours canker. field trials conducted under conditions current practices, autumnal sprays with copper hydroxide oxide were consistently more efficacious than oxychloride captan preventing new infections. Conclusions Restricted fertilisation other measures curb excessive during few years orchard, repeated pruning well-timed effective fungicides essential IPM Nonetheless, capable severely impairing success cultivars regions climates if all available taken. opens long-term perspectives breeding resistant

Draft Genome Sequence of a European Isolate of the Apple Canker Pathogen Neonectria ditissima
The Sordariomycetes fungus Neonectria ditissima is a major pathogen of apples, causing canker on trees and fruit spoilage. We report here the draft genome sequence of a European strain isolated from cankerous tissue.
متن کاملAssessment of diversity and genetic relationships of Neonectria ditissima: the causal agent of fruit tree canker
BACKGROUND Neonectria ditissima is one of the most important fungal pathogens of apple trees, where it causes fruit tree canker. Information about the amount and partitioning of genetic variation of this fungus could be helpful for improving orchard management strategies and for breeding apple cultivars with high levels of genetically determined resistance. In this study single-spore Neonectria...

Neonectria ditissima is the causal agent of apple canker. Here, we present the draft genome sequences of two isolates of N. ditissima that differ in virulence. Comparative genomics will enable pathogenicity determinants to be identified in this plant-pathogenic fungus.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
