Inequalities in breast-conserving surgery for female breast cancer in Świętokrzyskie Province, Poland

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common among women in world. Differences treatment of breast may be observed by age, disease stage, place residence and comorbid conditions. Aim: The aim study was to analyse differences use breast-conserving surgery Świętokrzyskie Province. Material methods: included 483 female residents Province who were diagnosed with invasive 2013. Following indicators, recommended evaluate compliance best oncology practice, calculated: a proportion patients receiving post-operative radiotherapy after breast-conservation pT1 cases. Results discussion: difference distribution surgical procedures age group (breast-conserving vs. mastectomy) cases statistically significant (P = 0.006). highest values both indicators for screening Poland, while lowest 70 years older. Our revealed non-significantly higher conserving-surgery urban than rural women, amounting 36.5% 29.4%, respectively. Conclusions: Existing inequalities indicate need consider possible residing areas.
