چکیده
The control of air quality in museum showcases is a growing issue for the conservation displayed artefacts. Inside an airtight showcase, volatile substances may rapidly concentrate and favor or directly cause degradation other unwanted phenomena on objects. role materials used construction display cases as source pollutants compounds dangerous cultural heritage integrity here reviewed with illustration consequences critical damages. Ways assessing suitability either use are also discussed altogether overview possible choices monitoring limiting concentration their interior.

Volatile Organic Chemical Emissions from Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) Materials and Implications for Indoor Air Quality
The emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from structural insulated panel (SIP) materials were investigated. Specimens of newly produced SIPs and associated panel adhesives were obtained from two relatively large manufacturers. Additionally, specimens of the oriented strand board (OSB) used as the inner and outer sheathing and the extruded polystyrene core for the SIP were obtained fro...
متن کاملEnvironmental monitoring of display cases in museums to consider the impact of display cases characteristics on their inner air quality
While technical characteristics, such as material used in the construction of display cases and their dimensions are important factors in terms of presentation quality as well as attracting the attention of the visitors, they can influence the inner air quality of the display case and preservation conditions of the exhibits too. This study intends to examine the effect of the technical characte...
متن کاملDifferential impacts of smoke-free laws on indoor air quality.
The authors assessed the impacts of two different smoke-free laws on indoor air quality. They compared the indoor air quality of 10 hospitality venues in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, before and after the smoke-free laws went into effect. Real-time measurements of particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter of 2.5 microm or smaller (PM2.5) were made. One Lexington establishment was exclu...
متن کاملmeasurements for indoor air quality assessment at the capodimonte museum in naples (italy)
the state of works of art exhibited inside museums can be strongly influenced by indoor air quality, due to chemical activity of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter. for that reason it is important to carry out periodic air quality controls to check if the concentration levels of air pollutants comply with the limits specified by the national laws. in this work we show results obtained i...
