چکیده
Abstract This paper empirically analyzes how individual characteristics are associated with risk aversion, loss time discounting, and present bias. To this end, we conduct a large-scale demographically representative survey across eight European countries. We elicit preferences using incentivized multiple price lists jointly estimate preference parameters to account for their structural dependencies. Our findings suggest that linked variety of such as age, gender, income well some personal values. also report evidence on the relationship between cognitive ability preferences. متن کاملIndividual characteristics associated with physical activity intervention delivery mode preferences among adults
BACKGROUND People have different preferences on how health behaviour change interventions are delivered to them; intervention implementation, retention and effectiveness may be improved if preferences can be matched. PURPOSE This study aims to explore factors related to preference of face-to-face, and group-, print- or web-based physical activity intervention delivery modes among adults recru...
متن کاملRisk Preferences, Time Preferences and Smoking Behaviour
There is a rich theoretical literature in economics which models habit-forming behaviours, of which addiction is the exemplar, but there is a paucity of experimental economic studies eliciting and comparing the preferences that economic theory suggests may differ between addicts and non-addicts. We evaluate an incentivecompatible risk and time preference experiment conducted on a sample of stud...
متن کاملEliciting Risk and Time Preferences
Abstract. We design experiments to jointly elicit risk and time preferences for the adult Danish population. We find that joint elicitation results in estimates of discount rates that are dramatically lower than those found in previous studies. Estimation of latent time preferences requires that one specify a theoretical structure to understand risk and time choices, but we show that our main r...
