Remotely sensed images have become an important source of information for actors involved in disaster management and satellite-based emergency mapping (SEM) is increasingly used to support the response phase first hours days after a occurs. In Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS), procedure was tested during past 5 years which links European Flood Awareness System (EFAS) with on-demand Rapid Mapping module order anticipate satellite tasking view upcoming activation service riverine floods. This study aims at assessing if has helped improve flood impact information. For assessment, we performance statistics recorded from June 2016 December 2020. Standard activations floods were compared those preceded by EFAS based pre-tasking request. focus on essential time stamps such as start, provision imagery availability derived products. pre-tasking-related activations, further predictions user request actual observations. Our results show that improves product due fact could be acquired earlier without pre-tasking.
