Increased accuracy of estrus prediction using ruminoreticular biocapsule sensors in Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) cows

چکیده

Visual estrus observation can only be confirmed at a rate of 50%–60%, which is lower than that obtained using biosensor. Thus, the use biosensors provides more opportunities for artificial insemination because it easier to confirm by visual observation. This study determines accuracy prediction ruminoreticular biosensor analyzing temperature during cycle and measuring changes in body activity. One hundred twenty-five Hanwoo cows (64 with ruminal test group 61 without control group) were studied. Ruminoreticular temperatures activities measured every 10 min. The first service used gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)-based fixed-time protocol groups. received based on made biosensor, according Before insemination, was maintained an average 38.95 ± 0.05°C 13 h (−21 −9 h), 0.73°C higher observed −48 (38.22 0.06°C). activity, indwelling 3-axis accelerometer, averaged 1502.57 27.35 approximately 21 from −4 −24 before showing 203 indexes activity hours (1299 9.72). Therefore, information communication techonology (ICT)-based highly effective reduce reproductive cost farm accurately detecting increasing confirmation cattle.

Polymorphisms of the prion protein gene (PRNP) in Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) and Holstein cattle.

Polymorphisms in the prion protein gene (PRNP) in humans and sheep correlate with susceptibility to transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs). Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) has been reported in British and Japanese cattle; it has occurred thus far in Holstein cattle. BSE in Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) cattle has not been diagnosed up to now. To characterize the bovine PRNP poly...

Behavioral characteristics of Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) steers at different growth stages and seasons

OBJECTIVE This research analyzed behavioral characteristics of Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) steers during each season and growth stage to enable measurement of the animals' welfare level for precision livestock farming. METHODS A hundred-eight beef steers were divided into three equal groups at a Hanwoo farm according to their growth stage: growing stage (GS), 8 months; early-fattening stage ...

Social relationships enhance the time spent eating and intake of a novel diet in pregnant Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) heifers

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of social relationships on the feed intake, eating behavior, and growth, upon exposure to a novel diet, in Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) heifers during pregnancy. Twenty-four pregnant Hanwoo heifers, averaging 438 ± 27.8 kg in weight, 21 months in age, and 194 ± 8.5 days in pregnancy, were involved in a two-month (eight weeks) experiment. T...

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of stocking density or group size on feed intake, daily gain, and carcass characteristics of Hanwoo (Korean indigenous breed) steers reared from 7 months to 31 months of age. Thirty Hanwoo steers were divided into four groups with three replicates each (a total of 12 pens). In each group, one (G1), two (G2), three (G3), and four steers (G4) pe...
