Increase in Bioavailability of Nitric Oxide After Renal Denervation Improves Kidney Function in Sheep With Hypertensive Kidney Disease

چکیده

Overactivity of renal sympathetic nerves and nitric oxide (NO) deficiency occur in hypertensive chronic kidney disease (CKD). In sheep with CKD NO deficiency, denervation (RDN) reduces blood pressure improves function (glomerular filtration rate). We hypothesized that this improvement glomerular rate after RDN is associated increased bioavailability. study, response to systemic inhibition NOS (NO synthase) was examined healthy at 2 30 months a sham (intact nerves) or procedure. Basal urinary total nitrate (nitrate+nitrite) excretion months, protein expression endothelial neuronal assessed months. Urinary nitrate+nitrite CKD-RDN ≈50% 70% greater than CKD-intact. During inhibition, the fall ≈20% These effects were similar those sheep. Endothelial lower CKD-intact compared CKD-RDN. summary, normalizes bioavailability restores contribution hemodynamics CKD. changes may promote improvements sustained lowering

Renal Nitric Oxide Deficiency and Chronic Kidney Disease in Young Sheep Born with a Solitary Functioning Kidney

Previously, we demonstrated that renal hemodynamic responses to nitric oxide (NO) inhibition were attenuated in aged, hypertensive sheep born with a solitary functioning kidney (SFK). NO is an important regulator of renal function, particularly, in the postnatal period. We hypothesized that the onset of renal dysfunction and hypertension in individuals with a SFK is associated with NO deficienc...

Risk of Stroke in Hypertensive Diabetic Chronic Kidney Disease Patients after Central Venous Catheter placement

Background: Stroke is the leading cause of death in patients with kidney failure. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is strongly associated with stroke with various purported mechanisms proposed and End-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients are in a condition where both kidneys are impaired and require kidney transplantation or dialysis, and unfortunately, the number of patients with ESRD has grown rap...

Increase in nitric oxide bioavailability improves endothelial function in endothelin-1 transgenic mice.

BACKGROUND Endothelin-1 (ET-1) has been described as a very potent vasoconstrictor. Nevertheless, transgenic mice overexpressing ET-1 have been shown to exhibit normal blood pressure. We thus hypothesized that vascular ET-1 effects may be antagonized by increased activity of other regulatory systems, such as the increase in bioavailability of the endothelial counterpart of ET-1, nitric oxide (N...

Nitric oxide deficiency in chronic kidney disease.

The overall production of nitric oxide (NO) is decreased in chronic kidney disease (CKD) which contributes to cardiovascular events and further progression of kidney damage. There are many likely causes of NO deficiency in CKD and the areas surveyed in this review are: 1. Limitations on substrate (l-Arginine) availability, probably due to impaired renal l-Arginine biosynthesis, decreased transp...

Effects of Low-dose Morphine on Nitric Oxide Concentration and Angiogenesis in Two-kidney One Clip Hypertensive Rats

Objective(s) We investigated the effects of low-dose morphine on nitric oxide (NO) and angiogenesis in two-kidney one clip hypertensive (2K1C) rats. Materials and Methods Male rats were divided into two groups: sham-clip operated and 2K1C. Each group subdivided into saline and morphine (3 mg/kg i.p. 8 weeks) groups. Blood pressure, heart rate, plasma renin activity (PRA), NO concentration an...
