Including families in schizophrenia treatment: a systematic review

The family as one of system support for schizophrenia treatment in the primary care setting has been a challenge integrating services into mental health. This study aimed to review urgent involvement during health using Family-Centered Care approach. A systematic was performed population, intervention, comparison, outcome, design (PICOS) framework within Scopus (27 articles), ProQuest (151 Science Direct (93 EBSCO (124 and Springer (149 articles) published databases last five years keywords “Family- Centered Care, nursing, AND Schizophreni*”. articles were empirical quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods studies 2017- 2021 where participants clinically diagnosed with intervention approaches scope involvement. Twenty-four met inclusion criteria review. Evidence supports professionally engaged relationship between patients, families, providers open knowledge exchange, communication, collaboration. Family-centered requires empathy, understanding, respect, empowerment choose, control decisions, empower schizophrenia. concludes importance from start. Health help families through admissions process.
