چکیده
ObjectivesThe impact of very low-level viremia (VLLV) and (LLV) are rarely investigated among people living with HIV (PLWH) receiving dolutegravir- vs protease inhibitor (PI)-based antiretroviral therapy (ART).MethodsVirally suppressed PLWH long-term PI-containing ART were included in this study. The incidences developing VLLV (plasma RNA load (PVL) 20–49 copies/ml), LLV (PVL 50–999 virological failure (any PVL ≥ 1000 copies/ml) compared between those switched to dolutegravir-based remaining on ART.ResultsA total 183 regimens 309 remained regimens. 26.5 13.2 per 100 person-years follow-up the dolutegravir group, respectively, 17.1 7.0 PI group; there no statistically significant differences after adjusting for confounders. rate was 1.3 group 1.9 (p = 0.32). Neither nor related subsequent failure.ConclusionsAmong virally PLWH, risk or similar who continued PI-based therapy. not associated failure.

Impact of Low-Level-Viremia on HIV-1 Drug-Resistance Evolution among Antiretroviral Treated-Patients
BACKGROUND Drug-resistance mutations (DRAM) are frequently selected in patients with virological failure defined as viral load (pVL) above 500 copies/ml (c/mL), but few resistance data are available at low-level viremia (LLV). Our objective was to determine the emergence and evolution of DRAM during LLV in HIV-1-infected patients while receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART). METHODS Retrospec...
متن کاملOngoing impact of HIV infection on mortality among people who inject drugs despite free antiretroviral therapy.
AIMS To determine the impact of HIV infection on mortality over time among people who inject drugs (PWID) in settings with free HIV/AIDS care. DESIGN AND SETTING Prospective cohort study of PWID in Vancouver, Canada, recruited between May 1996 and December 2011. We ascertained morality rates and causes of death through a confidential linkage with the provincial vital statistics registry. PA...
متن کاملFirst Antiretroviral Therapy Changes in People Living with HIV in Senegal: Incidence, Causes and Predictive Factors
Introduction: In resource-limited countries, the number of available antiretroviral (ARV) drugs is relatively limited. Hence, caregivers face some caution and constraints in the changes of ARV treatment (ART) in people living with HIV (PLHIV). Our objective was to calculate the incidence, to describe the main causes and to identify the predictive factors of the first change of ARV treatment in ...
متن کاملTuberculosis incidence among people living with HIV/AIDS with virological failure of antiretroviral therapy in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
Antiretroviral therapy for HIV has led to increased survival of HIV-infected patients. However, tuberculosis remains the leading opportunistic infection and cause of death among people living with HIV/AIDS. Tuberculosis has been shown to be a good predictor of virological failure in this group. This study aimed to evaluate the incidence of tuberculosis and its consequences among individuals dia...
متن کاملFertility desire and associated factors among people living with HIV attending antiretroviral therapy clinic in Ethiopia
BACKGROUND The reproductive decisions made by PLHIV and their partners have a long-term consequences for the survival and wellbeing of their families and a society at large. Evidence relating to fertility and reproductive intentions among PLHIV is rare, despite the fact that more than 80% of PLHIV are of reproductive age. The aim of the study was to determine fertility desire and associated fac...
