چکیده
In this study, a CoCrMo-based metallic alloy was manufactured using 3D-printing method with powder and laser-based 3D printer. The obtained material immersed in simulated body fluid (SBF) similar to blood plasma kept 2 months at 37 °C relative motion against the SBF order mimic real of fluids an implant. At determined time intervals (24, 72, 168, 336, 1344 h), both sample were characterized from physical-chemical point view assess alloy’s behaviour SBF. Firstly, CoCrMo based by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for assessing surface corrosion X-ray diffraction (XRD) determining if and/or what kind spontaneous protective layer formed on surface; secondly, pH, electrical conductivity (EC), inductively coupled mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) metal ion release. We that 3D-printed does not represent potential biological hazard terms concentration releases, since it forms, relatively short period time, CoCr its exposed surface.

Virtual Hip Replacement Simulator for 3D Printed Implants
This research presents a virtual reality simulator for total hip replacement surgery. The simulator supports a library of 3D hip stem models for different sizes and manufacturers. The 3D hip stems can be adjusted in size and shape by parametric software and sent for 3D printing. Biocompatible materials such as titanium enable the 3D printed stems to be directly implanted on patients. Currently ...
متن کاملAssessment and comparison of surface chemical composition and oxide layer modification upon two different activation methods on a cocrmo alloy.
This study investigated the effect of two different activation methods on the surface chemical composition of a CoCrMo-alloy. The activation was performed with oxygen plasma (OP) or nitric acid (NA). The surface physical-chemical properties were thoroughly characterized by means of several analytical techniques: X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrome...
متن کاملAn investigation on the biotribocorrosion behaviour of CoCrMo alloy grafted with polyelectrolyte brush.
Surface grafting of polyelectrolyte brush, such as 3-sulfopropyl methacrylate potassium salt (SPMK), on hip implant materials has been reported to reduce the wear of the orthopaedic bearing surface. However, the biotribocorrosion behaviour of the SPMK brush has not been taken into consideration in previous research. In the present study, SPMK was grafted on Co28Cr6Mo alloy through photo-induced...
متن کاملAlbumin adsorption on CoCrMo alloy surfaces
Proteins can adsorb on the surface of artificial joints immediately after being implanted. Although research studying protein adsorption on medical material surfaces has been carried out, the mechanism of the proteins' adsorption which affects the corrosion behaviour of such materials still lacks in situ observation at the micro level. The adsorption of bovine serum albumin (BSA) on CoCrMo allo...
