چکیده
Malaria still remains a life-threatening parasitic disease with universal targets set for control and elimination. This study aimed to evaluate the in vitro antimalarial susceptibility of Plasmodium falciparum isolates berghei selected agents column chromatographic subfractions Glyphaea brevis leaves extract FTIR GCMS SF8. Trager Jensen as well World Health Organisation (WHO) standardised micro-test system methods were used determine on patients’ blood samples; Column procedure was carried out obtain 11 pooled fractions; functional groups phytochemicals respectively. In anti-plasmodial activity against P. clinical had IC50 range 1.03 ?g/mL–7.63 ?g/mL while their ranges from 4.32 ?g/mL–7.89 ?g/mL. Subfraction 8 (SF8) least The spectrum showed presence isoprenoid, alcohol, phenol, alkane, alkenes, ester, carboxylic acids, aromatics nitro compounds identified dodecanoic acid, methyl ester; carotol; hexadecanoic 9-octadecenoic acid (Z)-, ester (oleic acid); stearate; heptadecanoic 16-methyl-, all reported activities. conclusion, G. has great potential drug development malaria parasite since it inhibited schizont growth possesses phytocompounds report.

Comparison of the susceptibility of Plasmodium knowlesi and Plasmodium falciparum to antimalarial agents.
Background The simian malaria parasite Plasmodium knowlesi is now a well-recognized pathogen of humans in South-East Asia. Clinical infections appear adequately treated with existing drug regimens, but the evidence base for this practice remains weak. The availability of P. knowlesi cultures adapted to continuous propagation in human erythrocytes enables specific studies of in vitro susceptibil...
متن کاملIn vitro susceptibility of Indian Plasmodium falciparum isolates to different antimalarial drugs & antibiotics
Background & objectives : The in vitro assays for susceptibility of Plasmodium falciparum to antimalarial drugs are important tools for monitoring drug resistance. During the present study, efforts were made to establish long-term continuous in vitro culture of Indian field isolates of P. falciparum and to determine their sensitivity to standard antimalarial drugs and antibiotics. Methods Fou...
متن کاملAntimalarial efficacy of Pongamia pinnata (L) Pierre against Plasmodium falciparum (3D7 strain) and Plasmodium berghei (ANKA)
BACKGROUND The objective of the current study was to assess the in vitro antiplasmodial activities of leaf, bark, flower, and the root of Pongamia pinnata against chloroquine-sensitive Plasmodium falciparum (3D7 strain), cytotoxicity against Brine shrimp larvae and THP-1 cell line. For in vivo study, the plant extract which has shown potent in vitro antimalarial activity was tested against Plas...
متن کاملAntimalarial efficacy of Albizia lebbeck (Leguminosae) against Plasmodium falciparum in vitro & P. berghei in vivo.
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Albizia lebbeck Benth. (Leguminosae) has long been used in Indian traditional medicine. The current study was designed to test antimalarial activity of ethanolic bark extract of A. lebbeck (EBEAL). METHODS EBEAL was prepared by soxhlet extraction and subjected to phytochemical analysis. The extract was evaluated for its in vitro antimalarial activity against Plasmodium...
متن کاملPlasmodium falciparum: role of absolute stereochemistry in the antimalarial activity of synthetic amino alcohol antimalarial agents.
The (+)-isomers of mefloquine and its threo analog are 1.69 to 1.95 times more active than the (-)-isomers against chloroquine-sensitive and chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum in vitro. This large a differential between the activity of (+)- and (-)-isomers was not observed for other synthetic amino alcohol antimalarial agents containing a piperidine ring. The enantiomers of amino alcoh...
