چکیده
Inflammation is a protective mechanism offered by the body’s immune system after an injury, microbial infection, or any other physical chemical damage. The role of cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase enzymes in inflammation process has been well established, research works are focused on developing plant-based inhibitors that can provide potential anti-inflammatory drugs with no side effects. Even though there previous reports suggesting rhizome plant, available regarding property leaves Anaphyllum wightii. Hence present study was intended to assess activity wightii also confirm vitro. action two morphological variants (broad narrow leaves) were determined their inhibitory effects enzymes. In case inhibition assay, leaf extract showed least IC50 value (43.182 µg/ml), whereas broad (38.174 µg/ml) for enzyme. Thus revealed extracts exhibit significant compared extract. may contain promising agents treating chronic inflammatory diseases. Also, this could detect presence Ursolic acid, agent, through high resolution liquid chromatograph mass spectrometeric performance thin layer chromatographic analyses.

Contributions of vulnerable hydrogeomorphic habitats to endemic plant diversity on the Kas Plateau, Western Ghats
BACKGROUND The Western Ghats of India are known to be a major biological hotspot that supports plant diversity and endemism. On the Kas Plateau, a lateritic plateau of the northern Western Ghats, we examined mesoscale distributions of endemic, rare, or locally significant plant species in forest habitats or on the plateau and its escarpments, and assessed the edaphic and hydrological parameters...
متن کاملEndemic Asian Chytrid Strain Infection in Threatened and Endemic Anurans of the Northern Western Ghats, India
The Western Ghats of India harbors a rich diversity of amphibians with more than 77% species endemic to this region. At least 42% of the endemic species are threatened due to several anthropogenic stressors. However, information on amphibian diseases and their impacts on amphibian populations in this region are scarce. We report the occurrence of Batrachochytridium dendrobatidis (Bd), an epider...
متن کاملDistribution of radionuclide in the forest soils (Western Ghats-India)
Background: The presence of radionuclides in the soil, measures need to be taken to minimize the radiation dose to humans. It is mostly gamma-emitting radionuclides that contribute to the radiation dose in long term behavior of these radionuclides in soil may determine the extent to which such countermeasures need to be applied. Materials and Methods: The activity concentration of these radionu...

Introduction: Investigation on the natural radionuclides 238U, 232Th, 40K and natural fallout radionuclide 210Po in the prominent plants species of Western Ghats tropical forest near Kotagiri have been carried out as a part of baseline background radiation studies in the forest environment. Materials and Methods: The prominent plants species of the region Evodia roxburghiana and Eleaocarpus obl...
