In-situ synthesized phases during the spark plasma sintering of g-C3N4 added TiB2 ceramics: A thermodynamic approach

چکیده

In this study, in situ composite was manufactured by using TiB2 matrix and C3N4 additive through spark plasma sintering. The optimum SPS parameters were considered the process carried out at a temperature of 1900°C for 7 minutes applying an external pressure 40 MPa. thermodynamics possible reactions during investigated. products chemical identified. complementary XRD investigations, EDAX analysis SEM microscopy used to confirm in-situ formation new phases. results showed that carbon nitride decomposed into its constituents, i.e. nitrogen, BN phase has been formed as result reactions.

In-situ Fabrication of Transparent Magnesium Aluminate Spinel by Spark Plasma Sintering

Transparent polycrystalline spinel ceramic was fabricated without any sintering aids by spark plasma sintering method of a mixture of Al2O3 and MgO powders for only 10min soak at 1250°C. Densification, microstructure and optical transparency of spinel were examined. The spinel exhibits an in-line transmission of 55% for a visible-wavelength of 470nm and high hardness value of 2040 HV.
