In Situ Removal of Benzene as a Biomass Tar Model Compound Employing Hematite Oxygen Carrier

چکیده

Tar is an unavoidable biomass gasification byproduct. formation reduces efficiency and limits the further application of technology. Hence, efficient tar removal a major problem to be solved in Chemical looping (CLG), novel promising technology has attracted extensive attention owing its low generation. Active oxygen carriers (OCs), reduced OC CLG, are considered excellent catalysts for cracking. In this study, use benzene as typical model compound using iron ore investigated. blank experiment, where inert material (SiO2) used carrier, cracking relatively low, conversion, H2 yield, carbon conversion 53.65%, 6.33%, 1.24%, respectively. The addition hematite promotes A large amount oxygen-containing gases (CO CO2) generated. Additionally, degrees benzene, about 67.75%, 21.55%, 38.39%, These results indicate that performs both oxidation catalysis during extension residence time facilitates removal, good interaction between gas phase solid phase. water vapor inhibits deposition. lattice reactivity shows uptrend cycle number increased cycle. experimental confirm CLG low-tar advantage effective removal.

Catalytic Steam Reforming of Toluene as a Model Compound of Biomass Gasification Tar Using Ni-CeO2/SBA-15 Catalysts

Nickel supported on SBA-15 doped with CeO2 catalysts (Ni-CeO2/SBA-15) was prepared, and used for steam reforming of toluene which was selected as a model compound of biomass gasification tar. A fixed-bed lab-scale set was designed and employed to evaluate the catalytic performances of the Ni-CeO2/SBA-15 catalysts. Experiments were performed to reveal the effects of several factors on the toluen...

In-Situ Treatment of Soil Contaminated by Benzene (A BTEX Compound)

Introduction Gasoline is a complex solution of different hydrocarbons. Naturally occurring petroleum contains aromatic hydrocarbons, a class of unsaturated hydrocarbons that includes benzene, toluene, ethylenzene, and xylene (collectively known as BTEX). Since the EPA banned lead additions to gas in 1973, aromatic hydrocarbons were added to increase the octane concentration, thereby maximizing ...

Catalytic Pyrolysis of Tar Model Compound with Various Bio-Char Catalysts to Recycle Char from Biomass Pyrolysis

Tar and char can be regarded as unwanted byproducts during the gasification process. In this study, three types of catalyst, i.e., biomass char (bio-char), nickel supported on biomass (Ni+bio-char), and nickel supported on bio-char (bio-char+Ni), were studied to compare the catalytic effects of different preparation methods on tar model compound removal. The structural characteristics of the th...
