چکیده
The standard heat treatment of PH 13-8 Mo maraging steels consists solution annealing and subsequent aging. Herein, it is investigated how an additional intercritical step prior to aging affects the microstructure, and, consequently, mechanical properties a steel. In situ techniques by means high-temperature electron backscatter diffraction X-ray are applied study microstructural changes during addition, high-resolution investigation methods, such as transmission microscopy atom probe tomography supplemented Kikuchi diffraction, used for in-depth characterization microstructure. results reveal that diffusion-controlled martensite austenite transformation accompanied partitioning substitutional atoms Cr, Ni, takes place annealing. As result annealing, inhomogeneous distribution Ni remains in microstructure after martensitic transformation. Consequently, formation reverted facilitated due existing Ni-enriched zones martensite. Since fracture toughness significantly enhanced compared treatment, suggested this improvement related increased phase fraction austenite.

Detailed Microstructural Evolutions of TWIP Steel During Tensile Straining: In situ SEM Observations
Microstructural evolutions of twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel during tensile straining were investigated by in situ SEM observations. The results indicated that slip lines and mechanical twins as well as surface relief were increased with increasing strain, resulting in a stepped surface. Additionally, these deformation mechanisms could change the shape of each grain via shear and rota...

The hot compression tests were carried on X45CrNiW189 valve steel (X45) in the temperature range of 1000– 1200 °C and the strain rate range of 0.004 – 0.5 s-1 in order to study the high temperature softening behavior of this steel. For the exact prediction of flow stress, the effective stress-effective strain curves were obtained from experiments under various conditions. On the basis of experi...
متن کاملThe Effect of a Two-Stage Heat-Treatment on the Microstructural and Mechanical Properties of a Maraging Steel
Maraging steels gain many of their beneficial properties from heat treatments which induce the precipitation of intermetallic compounds. We consider here a two-stage heat-treatment, first involving austenitisation, followed by quenching to produce martensite and then an ageing treatment at a lower temperature to precipitation harden the martensite of a maraging steel. It is shown that with a su...
