Improving Research Capacity at Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia

As a higher education institution with vision to become research university, programs and activities related are Universitas Diponegoro main concern. Research is one of the three pillars in Indonesia, apart from community service. Besides that, as state its development also influenced by central government policies. Currently, Undip university legal status has wide autonomy. This paper explains programs, challenges that still need be addressed future. To increase capacity at University, there five namely: 1. Increasing human resources; 2. Improvement facilities supporting facilities; 3. availability funds, 4. Collaboration 5. Creating conducive environment universities. Based on application been substantial capacity, especially when viewed indicators international scientific publications, an number patents obtained. But many overcome, including citation published papers utilization patent industries.
