IMPROVING NINTH GRADE STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) METHOD AT SMPN 3 TUNGKAL JAYA MUBA

This research is aimed at improving the ninth-grade students’ speaking skill through Problem Based Learning (PBL) method when it applied in teaching speaking. The was carried out action research. researcher acted with students and English teacher as collaborator. subjects of were 20 Ninth Grade SMPN 3 Tungkal Jaya, Musi Banyuasin academic year 2021/2022. data collection included application three cycles. analyzed using quantitative qualitative data. findings showed that improve skill. It enables to practice some techniques form group work, eases them improvement can be seen from result test which has mean score 1 50%, 2 70% 85%. also activities enhance conclusion suggests ninth grade effectively Banyuasin.
