IMPROVING ENERGY USAGE IN COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS USING SIX SIGMA DMAIC

This article describes the energy-saving measures in commercial buildings from different perspectives on energy saving cities. In recent years, improving conservation has become an issue of great importance for financial well-being organisations. The study uses define-measure-analyze-improve-control (DMAIC) Six Sigma approach to identify factors that contribute increases electricity consumption. With increasing shortage energy, two years’ worth consumption data a building South Africa was collected and analyzed using statistical tools. research findings revealed boiler had highest (38.33 per cent), followed by kitchen (24.20 cent) rest (37.47 cent). After applying DMAIC process, it showed could be reduced 6 cent during improvement phase. Keywords: Sigma, DMAIC, Energy management, consumption, efficiency
